As part of my project, I offered to run some workshops. Last week saw me working with 40 young people between 8 and 16 years old, who attend a Youth Arts project at the Brewery. The regular tutors of the three sessions had helped the young artists to produce some lino cuts, which were also to be used in a postcard printing session. The results of both clay and printing workshops will be displayed in the Brewery ‘Migration’ project exhibition, hence many of the images were of birds, but also boats, people and fish.

After looking around my exhibition, discussing the methods of markmaking, we used various ways of making relief and impressed designs. We then used  slip-glaze to colour, inlay and layer the patterns. All the results were so individual.
