My name is Anna Lambert.

I have been working as a studio ceramicist, making hand built earthenware, since 1980.

In July 2014 I received Arts Council funding for a project aimed at developing a new body of work using a flat form, which could be displayed either horizontally or on a wall

In this blog I will be exploring thoughts about new work and finding how other ceramicists deal with the problems and joys of making ceramic pieces that are flat.

There are two distinct areas that I want to look at while investigating  ‘flat’ ceramic objects: the wall mounted piece and the plate. I want to explore both forms in this blog: their differences and similarities; the distinct qualities that ceramic materials bring; to what extent they are successful as art.
